My research works, are all
at investigative levels, has centered on the Biology,
Molecular taxonomy and habitat ecology of some threatened
fresh water catfishes of Kerala. My research program
currently encompasses the following areas:

Survey on Population characteristics of prioritized
threatened catfishes of Kerala.
•
Data Acquisition on Reproductive biology estimators
and life history parameters
•
conduct Captive breeding trials as tool for the
conservation programmes
•
Dietary and guild analysis of the fishes from the
wild
•
Nutritional studies on cultivable catfishes
•
Documentation of traditional knowledge on ecology
and biology of catfishes
•
Resolving of taxonomic disputes of threatened catfishes
using molecular genetic tools.
•
Quantitative assessment of stream habitat and its
use by fish
