Collaborative Programmes

i) International organizations –
Prof. Oommen V. Oommen has Research collaboration with Natural History Museum London on molecular taxonomy. The University of Kerala had a MoU with natural History Museum London for the last four years. This has enabled our Department to make a strong research link with that pioneering Research Institute and several papers of international repute were jointly published. This programme also enabled visit of one of the research scholars to NHM. Further, a revival of MoU envisages more interactive programmes like training of young scientists through exchange programmes. Dr. M.C. Subhash Peter has Research establishment with Department of Aquatic Ecology, Radboud University of Nijmegen, The Netherlands on Molecular Ecophysiology.

ii) Inter Institutional
The Department has research collaboration and training with Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Sree Chira Thirunal Medical Institute, Tropical Botanical Garden and Research Institute and Centre for Tuber Crops Research Institute. Prof. Oommen V. Oommen has Research collaboration with Department of Biochemistry of the University of Kerala and Department of Biotechnology of the Cochin University of Science and Technology. He is also having Research Collaboration with Department of Life Sciences, Bharathidasan University and Institute of Endocrinology of the University of Madras.

iii) Non- Government organizations
Prof. Oommen V. Oommen is actively engaged in Science Extension activities among school children supported by British Scholars Association.
